Goal

Students will have a hands-on learning experience at Astro Skate, reviewing science standards while having fun! 

 

What will be done with my students

Students to go to Astro Skate and see how they use science, technology, and engineering to run their center. Students will be doing hands-on learning activities to learn about force and motion at Astro Skate. 

 

Benefits to my students

The students in 5th Grade will be tested on 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade standards on the end of the year science SSA exam. This review of physical science standards includes not only 5th Grade standards, but also 3rd and 4th Grade standards as well.  

 

Describe the Students

The students at 74th Street Elementary are very diverse. 74th Street has a large population of ESE, ESOL, and minority groups. The school’s minority student enrollment is 57%. 74th Street enrolls 69% economically disadvantaged students. All students have free and reduced breakfast and lunch provided, daily.  

 

Budget Narrative

It costs $14.99 for each student to attend. With 65 students going it will cost $975.00
