Goal

Hospital Homebound's mission is to provide quality education that supports effective individualized learning opportunities for all students in order to meet their unique learning needs and increase student success.

What will be done with my students

It is the Hospital Homebound's vision to have 100% student success. In order to achieve this our educators need to be equipped with the tools to make lessons engaging for our most vulnerable students that have a vast spectrum of needs. Our educators are asking for a color printer, ink supplies, paper, and lamination sleeves to be able to make high level engagement activities for our students that have various disabilities such as, vision impairment, hearing impairment, medically fragile, autism, and many other areas. Our educators have software programs to create digital forms of activities, but most of our students need hard copies to be able to access and interact with the curriculum. If our educators have access to a color printer, ink, paper, velcro, and laminator sleeves, they will be able to to create laminated hard copies of the creations with a velcro board for student with disabilities to be able to interact with and maintain engagement that would otherwise not be possible without this creation.

Benefits to my students

This will enable them to be able to access all subject area curriculum. The color printer, ink, paper, velcro, and laminator sleeves will help benefit students by allowing teachers to create laminated hard copies of the creation with a velcro board for students to be able to interact with and maintain engagement that would otherwise not be possible without this creation.

Describe the Students

A homebound or hospitalized student is a student who has a medically diagnosed physical or psychiatric condition which is acute or catastrophic in nature, or a chronic illness, or a repeated intermittent illness due to a persisting medical problem and that confines the student to home or hospital, and restricts activities for an extended period of time. Hospital Homebound is an area of Exceptional Student Education (ESE) eligibility that is determined by an Individual Education Plan (IEP) Team based on multiple sources of data. Students have a vast spectrum of disabilities and needs, such as, vision impairment, hearing impairment, medically fragile, physical needs and limitations (wheelchair), autism, cognitive limitations, and giftedness. Our educators are continuously looking for ways to keep our students engaged. This often includes overcoming challenges and hurdles that our special needs students often have.

Budget Narrative

Our Hospital Homebound educators currently do not have the budget to get a color printing and other tools/supplies needed to use the printer and create engaging curriculum for our special needs students that have specific needs. We are in need of a color printer, lamination sleeves, velcro dots and ink to ensure we are allow to create colorful laminated curriculum for our special needs students.
