Pinellas Education Foundation - $277.91
My goal is to get science tools into my students hands so they can complete experiments in small groups.
Even simple science techniques can be accomplished if the tools are in the classroom. I would like to get simple classroom science tools to enhance our science time.
One benefit to my students would be getting to experience first had how to use different science tools instead of having to wait in line because we only have one graham kit, or having to push an experiment back because another class is using the tools.
My class is split in half with high and low performers. I also have ELL and ESE students in my classroom.
I also have a culturally diverse group of students also.
I would like to be able to put science tools into my students hands. Having the students experience science instead of watching a video of someone else completing the experiment would reinforce skills being taught.
I would like to purchase
4 sets of graham weights to go with the scales in my room. I would also like to get a set of 12 thermometers so the students can practice reading and taking temperatures of different things. The magnetic kit would be helpful when teaching positive and negative polls and will let my students experience the push and pull of magnetics. We have a light unit that the mirrors and prisms would assist my students understanding with reflection and absorption of light. I would use the stop watches in different experiments that have to do with how long something occurs. I have also added taxes and delivery fees into the total.
