To provide supplies for students that will enhance and enrich learning that will prepare them for employment upon graduation.
Students will use these supplies to practice on mankins, other students and teachers to obtain skills that will prepare them for employment.
Students will use the same supplies that are used in the salons today. Seniors will receive a quality pair of shears or an industrial strength hairdryer or flatiron that will also be used while working in the industry. Actual haircolor, permanent waves, bleach and other supplies will be used so students understand the processing reactions for each.
CTE (Career and Technical Education) students typically are B, C, or D students that do not always succeed in regular ed school programs. They do not have an interest in attending college because they are interested in a specific trade. Once these students enter Cosmetology, their grades tend to rise. They are taught Math, English, Writing, Anatomy, Physiology, Electricity, in addition to hair, skin and nails. Learning about these subjects allows them to associate this to their core classes and grades tend to rise.
These supplies will greatly benefit the students learning and will prepare them for the industry.
