Goal

We would like to expand the classroom libraries within our K-5th grades to include more culturally relevant and diverse books. We want all of our learners to feel connected to the literature that we provide access to in our learning environments.

What will be done with my students

Students will have access to read the varying levels and genres of books provided on a daily basis.

Benefits to my students

Through this classroom library expansion, we hope students will begin to understand cultural perspectives and become more open-minded. This charge is significant and aligned to our IB mission to provide opportunities for our students to become lifelong learners and global citizens.

Describe the Students

We have a diverse population of students in all sub-group categories, rangins from those identified with learning disabilities to those who have been identified as gifted and everywhere in between. Our students are also diverse in their academic performance, above, on, and below grade level expectations.

Budget Narrative

The funds for these items will be used to help diversify both teacher and student used books and resources for our k-5 libraries.
