Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 66

The ESE math teacher at Lealman elementary school now has access to hard copies of the teacher edition of our new math program, Ready Math. This helped our students to follow along with the support of the ESE teachers within the class at the same time. The students and the teachers that now have access to the hard copies of the yet are able to ask questions in their small group in-class lessons. This is a much-needed resource so our scholars do not have to trade teacher editions books within the class and lose valuable teaching time and momentum.

As our students moved along the school year we had data to show that the ESE students were showing significantly higher math scores because they stayed in the class with all the students and the ESE teacher was able to support the students with this teacher edition.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

To provide equity for all our scholars by providing them with well-versed math educators.

What will be done with my students

Every student that has small group instruction, such as ESE and ELL and the lower quartile percent students will have an educator that will have a hard copy of the teacher edition so the teacher can prepare properly for instruction in real-time.

Benefits to my students

Students will benefit because the teachers that pull students for small group instruction can use these teacher edition books so they can become proficient in teaching mathematics. The students will have their consumable edition and now their support teachers will be able to teach to the math standards with fidelity.

Describe the Students

Our "L25" students are the low performing students based on their assessment scores from a variety of data that we collect. Our ELL students will also benefit from this program so they can become proficient in math. Our ESE students often have multi disabilities with learning gains and this grant will support their learning with a teacher that has the proper hard copy resources so the teacher can make notations on the scholar's individual needs to become successful.

Budget Narrative

There are multiple ESE teachers and Title One and resource teacher that teach our small group instruction. My goal is to give a complete set (grades K thru 5) so each specialist can have access.
