Goal

The goal for the use of these grant will be to provide math project supplies for students in need that take Math with Mr. Hendricks. Supplies will be given to any impoverished 6th grade student in traditional or advanced Math. These projects will relate one of the 10 core 6th grade Math Standards to a real life profession or viable life skill.

What will be done with my students

Students will be given several projects throughout the school year that will have them take the math content they are learning and figure out how it relates to a career or life skill they are interested in. These projects will be completed on poster-boards that will be required to show this relation with clarity and great insight.

Benefits to my students

Students will connect the math they learn in class to the real world to hopefully develop a stronger understanding of math's value to their future prosperity.

Students will develop a stronger understanding of a math concept as well as a career they are interested in. The connection between these two areas will be the emphasis of this project.

Describe the Students

I have two advanced classes that contain students who performed well on math on their last FSA. I have four traditional 6th grade classes that contain students with varying math abilities. In both classes, I have ELL and ESE students to a high degree.

Budget Narrative

This budget will attain all supplies needed to successfully implement this project. These supplies will be purchased with frugality and their use will be maximized by students to the greatest possible degree.
