Goal

To engage students in reading using posters with book quotes and information about the media center. The environment will be student centered implementing alternative seating options, along with makers space activities. 

 

What will be done with my students

Students will be given an engaging environment in the media center to help encourage reading and increase academic performance. Students will partake in makers space activities and be given alternative seating to help engage them. 

 

Benefits to my students

Students will be motivated and engaged to read. An increase in library checkouts and reading will increase the academic performance of our students.  

 

Describe the Students

Our students are economically disadvantaged and low performing.. Campbell Park is an elementary school located in St. Petersburg, Florida.It is a Title 1 school that serves 580 students from Pre-K through 5th grade. The free and reduced lunch program helps 86% of the students.
