Goal

Allow students to experience the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) field by expanding the Robotics Club by competing in the First Tech Challenge (FTC) league.

What will be done with my students

Students will grow collaboration skills and leadership skills when being with the club and FTC Competition Team. Students will want to grow their interest within the STEM field and apply it to the future with college and careers. Students will also learn under experienced Robotics members and myself.

Benefits to my students

The expected benefits for this project is to have the students compete in the First Tech Challenge (FTC) league and gain an interest in the STEM field while learning how to work in a team environment.

Describe the Students

Mostly International Baccalaureate (IB) students along with high performing AP, traditional students. The club also welcomes any students of any experience or grade as long as they have the drive to develop new practical STEM interests and skills. Most of these students are passionate about robotics and have the motivation to win or show at least a respectful showing at the FTC Competition. If they see anything wrong with their robot, they are quick to correct any changes as they are perfectionist. Furthermore, they are quick to assist other juniors and inexperienced members with no feelings of discrimination.

Budget Narrative

With these components, the club will be able to function with two groups working on two robots at once. Furthermore, the extra components will allow the club to expand its limits on what we can build.
