Goal

Great teaching tool to challenge students to develop problem solving, critical thinking, and decision making skills.  

 

What will be done with my students

Students will work in groups using directional keys to code the Bee-Bot to move and turn to reach a specific destination. Students, in small groups, with specific teaming roles will participate in ongoing activities will inspire students to create more complex command sequences.  

 

Benefits to my students

The entire Kindergarten grade level will share the Bee-bots for ongoing activities year to year. The students will develop problem solving, critical thinking, and decision making skills.  

 

Describe the Students

Bear Creek has a variety of ethnic backgrounds. We are a Title 1 school with students economic level at 100% free lunch. Out of our 52 total Kindergarteners this year 4 are (identified) ESE and 27 are low performing. 

 

Budget Narrative

$1199.90- will be used for the Bee-Bot robots to be shared among the entire grade level. Along with a storage case and recharging docking stations for each Bee-Bot.
$74.85 - the command cards are used to organize the coding directions.
