Goal

Our students need read-aloud books to promote phonemic awareness, fluency and predicting!
My Students

What will be done with my students

Please help our 1st graders get more read-aloud books!

Our first grade teachers want our students to love to read!
Read-alouds are so important for 1st grade children to support fluency and phonemic awareness. Our class does not have many books to read aloud with beautiful illustrations. These books will greatly help the kids and support a love of reading! The books that we have chosen will help with inferring, predicting, grammar, fluency, phonemic awareness, classroom community, acceptance of others, behavior, writing, celebrating holidays and much more

Benefits to my students

The purpose of a read aloud is to demonstrate how books work so that readers can have a better understanding of writer's craft and structure. A read aloud also sparks rich discussion and collaborative conversations. And lastly, the read aloud helps all learners, especially English Language Learners, hear the nuances of the English Language.

Describe the Students

The students at our school are in the highest level of poverty. Many of them do not have the privileges you or I have. Our school is 100% free breakfast and lunch. The students in our classes are eager to learn and are excited about the upcoming school year. We are eager to start the year, but our first grade classrooms could use some work. My classroom is in need of some basic supplies to further my students' education. Please help my students have the best learning experience they could possibly have!

Budget Narrative

The books that I have chosen will help with inferring, predicting, grammar, fluency, phonemic awareness, classroom community, acceptance of others, behavior, writing, celebrating holidays and much more!
