Goal

Due to the special needs of my class, my goal is to give my students as many hands on opportunities as possible access to life skills experiences in my classroom.

What will be done with my students

These items will allow me to teach hands on life skills lessons with my special needs class. The students will utilize these items while in the classroom as part of their daily living skills and language lessons. The students will use the items across content areas to give the students as much exposure as possible.

Benefits to my students

Hands on experiences are valuable in so many ways to my special needs students. All of my students are significantly delayed in all areas, which includes life skills. It is our goal to make our students as independent in their life as possible. We aim to provide as many hands on experiences as possible to give them the greatest chance at success. These items will not only help them progress with their daily life skills, but will also enhance their social emotional growth through imaginative play. The items will also be used during our language lessons to improve their language skills through building vocabulary.

Describe the Students

I currently have class of 10 SVE ESE students. They all have significant cognitive disabilities with delays in all areas. They are all working on life skills throughout the day.
