THANKS------Our goal is to help Pre-K students, especially our special needs students become independent with their bathroom skills. Many of our special needs students are developmentally delayed and have difficulty understanding the whole process. While teaching a child to potty train, they often have several accidents during the day. We can change a child 3-4 times in one day. We run out of clothing and often put children in clothing that doesn't fit.

Goal

THANKS------Our goal is to help Pre-K students, especially our special needs students become independent with their bathroom skills. Many of our special needs students are developmentally delayed and have difficulty understanding the whole process. What will be done with my students

Many Pre-K and VPK students come to school who are not potty trained. As teachers it is also our job to help with the potty training. The children who are newly trained often become so involved in their playtime, that they have accidents throughout the day.
Many parents do not return the clothes that we send home and this makes it difficult to have extra, cleanclothes on hand.

Benefits to my students

The benefit of this grant is to have extra clothes on hand to help our children be successful with potty training. The grant would help us purchase necessary items for our children during their potty training and also when they have regular accidents. Often we are putting clothes that do not fit and it is upsetting to them.

Describe the Students

Our students are a blended class made up of ESE and General education students who are 3-5 years old. They are a mixture of high/low students across the board. It is difficult for the ESE students, but many gen. ed children are also not potty trained.

Budget Narrative

When our students haves accidents and they are very frequent in Pre-K, very often, the clothes, underwear and socks are not returned to us to use for other children. We need to replenish these items very often, usually we are purchasing these items.
