Goal

To meet the needs of teen parents and their infants and toddlers by providing assistance in the form of baby items and gift cards.

What will be done with my students

Students will participate fully in the Teen Parent Program by attending school regularly, completing assignments, attending teen parent classes, and meeting with their social workers.
Students will keep track of their academic progress.

Benefits to my students

Majority of the teen parents are unemployed and need additional assistance to provide for their children and stay in school. The goal of the Teen Parent Program is to provide resources that will assist and motivate the students to attend school regularly and graduate with their cohort.

Describe the Students

The teen parents are from various high schools in Pinellas County from grades 9 - 12. Some of the teen parents are enrolled in Alternative Education programs. We also have students who are residents of Alpha House, a shelter for teen parents. The program currently service 65 parenting teens and 68 babies.
