Goal

By doing the Parent Teacher Home Visit Project model home visits, educators will build stronger relationships with families that will intern improve student achievement and family engagement.

What will be done with my students

Students will be visited at their homes to discuss their interests, hopes, and dreams with their teacher and the student's family members.

Benefits to my students

Families see the teachers and school as a partner in their child's education. When the trust builds between the key stakeholders and all parties work together, student achievement increases.

Describe the Students

Students that will be involved in this project attend schools that are on the list of the lowest 300 schools in FL. Most live in poverty and are under achieving, which is why this project is so important.

Budget Narrative

One of the non-negotiable for this format of home visits under the PTHVP model is that educators are compensated for the time they spend at the home visit. We feel it's a fair amount to give participants their training stipend rate ($20/hour). Each home visit is approximately 30 minutes and the educators go in pairs. So each home visit costs $20. Our goal is for each person trained to do at least 3 home visits.
