Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 150

Students able to create and complete an interactive notebook that met or exceeded the rubric.  This assignment teaches self-advocacy and organization.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

To provide supplies for "foldables" in our class notebooks.

What will be done with my students

Our blended classes are building writing, reflection and grammar/vocab notebooks this year. Each unit will involve a foldable planner to allow Green Devils a chance to look at things differently or better plan their writing. We will show students the foldable for the unit and how to use. We will model the installation and application of said foldable. Students will cut out and paste in the foldable in their notebook for full credit.

Benefits to my students

1. Tactile learners can cut/glue/stay busy.
2. Visual learners can "see" what they need to do.
3. Students have the opportunity to choose whether said foldable is to their benefit in planning, writing and so on.
4. Higher confidence in planning and writing.
5. "Proof" of what they are doing in a class that perhaps once they struggled or dreaded.

Describe the Students

I am Pinellas County's ESE Inclusion Teacher of the Year. This means students in my classes are blended others of varying abilities. No one is "identified" as an ESE student, a low/high performer. They are Green Devils. Together as a team, Joy, Dana and I work with students to show them anything is possible and that everyone is exceptional.

Budget Narrative

Glue sticks and white glue help students "cement" their learning goals through foldable learning units.

Items

# Item Cost
