Goal

My goal is to provide meaningful Literacy Centers for my 3rd grade students. In order to do this I need engaging materials that will keep them interested and engaged in learning. I want to reach every level of learners that I have in my classroom so that each of them will be successful in 3rd grade.

What will be done with my students

Students will have 3 literacy rotations each day that will align to the Sunshine State Standards. They will have centers with read alongs, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary skills to maximize the Jan Richardson Guided Reading program. Students will be placed in groups according to their levels and be paired with Centers to help them make gains in the strategies that we are learning.

Benefits to my students

Students will benefit from the hands on learning in each of the centers. Students with low reading levels will benefit from the read alouds. Students will have the opportunity to show their work in diverse ways. They will be engaged and have fun learning through each of their rotations. I have a wide variety of learners in my classroom and I believe these centers will benefit all of my students in different ways.
