Goal

Additional intensive reading; help through independent and assisted reading, read aloud, crafting summaries and discussions; comprehension development; vocabulary; views outside the normal daily life of the student 

 

What will be done with my students

Students will read articles independently and group to apply comprehension and vocabulary from articles read; teacher monitoring and review  

 

Benefits to my students

Major boost in fluencies, comprehension, vocabulary 

 

Describe the Students

Students are beginning readers; and below grade level; ESE; typically low performers 

 

Budget Narrative

Action and Jr. Scholastic will be a big help in our classroom. Other magazines, Scope and Story Works, will be on a request additionally. These can all be used with other curriculum on a collaborative note, as well the diversity of their uses
