Goal

The goal of our reading project is to increase low leveled students reading interest, self reliance and test scores by providing thesaurus that will allow students to research alternative verbiage when writing and grasp a better understanding of their reading books and passages.

What will be done with my students

Students will be given the opportunity to read high interest books of their choosing and take compatible quiz and/or test to receive additional credit opportunities without hesitation or being unaware of the vocabulary being utilized in their readings.

Benefits to my students

Students impacted by this reading project will benefit from being able to read books that they highly enjoy and want to complete rather than suffer through. Thus, this will increase their comprehension and retaining of important information and details as well as, their completion of such books in a more timely fashion.

Describe the Students

My class consists of both low performers and ESE students who at times lack the motivation and abilities to connect with the books in our class at this time as they are neither about the world in which they frequent nor in the language format in which they are accustomed.

Budget Narrative

The listed items are daily requested in daily group rotations and the numbers listed would be permissible for each student to have one as we do readings and vocabulary searches and word challenges (in class vocabulary game).
