Goal

To teach and enforce core content of physical science using buildable hands on models. Student will be able to manipulate and see first hand the laws of science in action associated with force, energy, and motion.

What will be done with my students

Students will be able to build working models from kits that show real life examples of forces, energy and motion. Students will use STEM science data recording to understand the processes used in the scientific laws associated with energy, motion and force. Students will work in small groups or 2-3 to create the models needed for experiments. 12 kits will offer student classes of 24 to work in pairs.

Benefits to my students

Many students, especially struggling ones, learn best through hands on experiments. The Knex system is designed around pure hands on manipulation of a students environment.
The models keep students engaged while aiding in the learning process on concepts that would otherwise be difficult to conceptualize with no strong visualization to reenforce them.
The Knex systems are ideal for encouraging cooperative learning skills that are becoming ever so vital to the way corporations focus team building. These skills will be used through out the rest of their educational careers and likely into their professional ones as well.

Describe the Students

At PPA there is a combination of students within our student body. As a small school, our students are taught together. I have gifted, ESE and ESOL student all learning together in the same classroom environment. Within my present student body, I have multiple ESOl and ESE students. I Also have a large number of gifted students.
