Goal

My goal is to purchase a small, air-conditioned, wheelchair accessible bus to transport my special education students to their job sites.

What will be done with my students

I teach seniors and transition students at Jupiter High School. The majority of my day revolves around job training in the community. I currently transport them in a 1998 un-airconditioned bus. This bus does not have a wheelchair lift. I have located a new bus, that will be built directly for me and my students, however the school board will not purchase it. I'm looking for funding to purchase the bus.

Benefits to my students

My students gain valuable job skills while working in the community in my Community Based Vocational Education class. Many of my students have been hired by their job sites. It will be much more comfortable to drive my students in an air-conditioned bus. I also have one student who is in a wheelchair part time, and she isn't able to join us off campus with my current bus.

Budget Narrative

The bus is built at Matthews Bus company of Florida. The bus will be built specifically for my students.
