What will be done with my students

Each student will be get their own iPad including a keyboard. All instructions, lessons, and assignments (excluding those that require paper) that are done in a whole group, small group, or independent setting will be completed and turned in online instead of being completed and turned in on paper via online educational software programs such as Google Classroom.

Benefits to my students

1) Reduce the number of paper waste within the classroom that is generated from everyday lessons, instructions, and assignments.
2) Promote a GREEN classroom environment.
3) Hold students accountable to the Pine Jog pledge "To always be Green!"
4) Allowing modern everyday technology to be incorporated into the modern everyday classroom.
5) Allowing students to become familiar with completing and turning in assignments online via online education software such as Google Classroom, etc. to prepare for High School/College.
6) Allow students to share lessons, instructions, and assignments with their parents, and monitor their own behavior via the online classroom management system Class Dojo.
7) Pine Jog Elementary is a Title I school, many students who attend have a low socioeconomic background, and are not able to experience modern day technology. This will provide students with an amazing experience that takes place right at their school!

Budget Narrative

2 packs of 10 iPad 5's = 20 iPads plus 2 additional iPads = 22 iPads for 22 students. All iPads need to have AppleCare+ protection (required by the district). Lastly, 22 Snapbook keyboards for each iPad to allow students to physically type on a keyboard if preferred (this will ease transition from iPad to computer).
