Goal

My goal is to provide my third-grade students with a new instrument experience.

What will be done with my students

Starting in the spring semester, the students will be assigned their own personal recorder that they will be able to take home once our unit is over. We will learn how we can create a new sound through an instrument that places them out of their comfort zone. The recorders provide an opportunity for the students to build on the musical skills they have learned since kindergarten.

Benefits to my students

Learning recorders provide many benefits like hand - eye coordination, working together as a group, listening in an ensemble with same but also alike instruments, and improving social skills. If students are going to continue with their musical journey in their life, they will have this knowledge that will help them when the opportunity comes.

Budget Narrative

One grade level is about 140 students currently but considering we had gotten more students last year; we would need extra to prepare for the future students to be involved.
