Goal

To build a greenhouse for the annual flowers and herbs we grow on the school farm.

What will be done with my students

Construction of greenhouse, germinating and nurturing plants as they grow. Using plants for food, landscaping, decoration. Selling some plants to raise funds for the farm.

Benefits to my students

Students will learn basic construction skills, irrigation methods, how to grow various plants from seeds, cuttings, and other propagation methods. They will learn fertilization techniques, pest control withorganic substances, pruning/pinching techniques to produce fuller plants. Students will be able to taste plants they have grown, to market and sell flowers and herbs.

Budget Narrative

We will build the tables and frame for greenhouse. We have poly sheeting, screws to anchor pvc with straps, and screw/nails to build bench frames.The bench tops will fit into the frames, providing weather proof table tops.
