Goal

Last year we were awarded this grant money, and part of that money went towards an indoor greenhouse. This year, we would like to use that greenhouse and add vegetable gardens to our school.

What will be done with my students

We will be able to do experiments with the students, using the greenhouse verse growing outside, different soils, and different plants. Students will learn the process of doing experimentation and how to do the experiments in a controlled environment.

Benefits to my students

Students will, not only get the knowledge that comes from their experiments, but the gardens will also be open for picking. We will be using them for our on-campus cookouts and the students will be allowed to pick things to take home to their families to use in a family dinner. We are hoping this will create a family bond and allow the students to share their knowledge with them through family time.
The added benefit to this grant being filled is this project will be able to be used in additional school years to come benefiting way more than just the students of this current year.

Budget Narrative

We will need building supplies such as wood and nails. We will also need lots of soil to fill the vegetable gardens and for growing the plants in pots for the start. We will also need the seeds for the vegetables.
