Original Grant Overview
Goal
The goal for this grant is to provide sketchbooks to my Creating 2D, Creating 3D and Ceramics/Pottery 1 and 2 students here at Pine Ridge High School. The sketchbooks provide an organized way to keep art terms, assignment notes, planning and reflections together. The sketchbooks can be used as a point of reference through the student’s art making processes. The sketch books will also aide in the creation of artist statements and giving art critiques to peers. The long-term goal for the sketchbooks will be to build upon student learning with an ongoing interactive tool to help students make creative learning connections.
What will be done with my students
The sketchbooks will be used for bellringers, notes for weekly topics and planning their artwork. They will also be used for writing reflections on their work and answering weekly questions. The sketchbooks will also be used as a reference for critiques and artist statements. Students will plan their work by sketching and trying techniques. They will also be able to record daily tasks to practice time management skills. They will be able to use their sketchbooks throughout the week as needed. Overall sketchbooks will be an interactive part of a student's creative art process.

The sketch book will add to students' vocabulary and speaking on topic skills. The teacher's sketchbook will serve as a reference tool for when students are absent. A great benefit will be that the students will learn a form of concept note taking, that can be applied to any subject.
