Being Math Interventionist, I am a traveling teacher, visiting each 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade class. I use up a lot of paper servicing 55 students daily. My goal is to have 25 dry erase pockets and 24 markers that my students can use to be more engaged and save paper.

Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 49

The 49 students that I work with daily really and truly enjoy using the Dry Erase Pockets! When I tell them to pull out their notebooks, I hear "Ahh man.. ugh." But when I come into their rooms and pass out the Dry Erase Pockets, their faces light up and they rush over to my table to try and get to the color of board that they'd prefer. The students are much more engaged when using the boards than paper and pencil. This is huge due to these students being the bottom 25 percent of their grade levels!

Thank you again for helping me help these students!

Original Grant Overview

Goal

To increase student engagement by using dry erase boards and markers!
Being Math Interventionist, I am a traveling teacher, visiting each 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade class. I use up a lot of paper servicing 55 students daily. My goal is to have 25 dry erase pockets and 24 markers that my students can use to be more engaged and save paper.

What will be done with my students

Students will be the dry erase pockets and markers to work out math problems daily. Coming out of the classroom, I see how much student engagement rises when dry erase pockets are utilized. I'm hoping this helps my small groups become even more engaged and save trees along the way. The students work on grade level curriculum with me, just at a slow pace to help close their learning gaps.

Benefits to my students

Increasing student engagement, ability to slide in work mats in the pockets to help with standards involving fractions, graphing, etc.
One teacher and 55 students will benefit from these supplies on a daily basis.
