Goal

To empower middle school students by providing them with the opportunity to showcase their creativity, enhance their writing skills, and express themselves through art and storytelling, ultimately culminating in the publication of a student-created book that celebrates their unique voices and talents.

What will be done with my students

Students will submit selections of visual art and creative writing that relate to resiliency standards. Works will be chosen and organized into a book that will be published by Story and Song in Fernandina Beach. Students will also be recognized at a reception held by the Yulee Public Library.

Benefits to my students

This creative arts publication based on resiliency standards will promote emotional growth and understanding, encourage a positive mindset, enhance critical thinking and problem solving skills as well as require students to think about empathy and connection as it relates to others. The recognition they will receive through this publication will result in boosted self-confidence for their creative talents.
