Goal
To enhance the writing skills of 5th grade students by increasing their proficiency in informative and argumentative writing as measured by 225 students improve in the writing process and reach grade level on state writing assessment.
What will be done with my students
Students will enhance their writing skills by engaging in the editing process using colored pencils to identify and correct errors., and by organizing their work in personalized folders to foster ownership and pride in their writing.
Benefits to my students
colored pencils can enhance the editing process by allowing students to visually distinguish between different types of revisions, such as spelling, grammar corrections, and improving their attention to detail. Additionally, using folders to organize their writing fosters student independence, enabling them to track their progress and take ownership of their work.
Budget Narrative
Tatuo colored pencils come in a pack of 60 @ 14.49/pack (18 packs are needed to allow students to use 4 different colors when teaching the differentiation components in writing. Students will enhance their writing skills by engaging in the editing process using colored pencils to identify and correct errors., and by organizing their work in personalized folders to foster ownership and pride in their writing.
Resource rich writing folders come in a 12 pack and are used to remind students of the components of the writing process. These folders will aid in students organizing their work in personalized folders to foster ownership and pride in their writing.
