Students at Yulee Primary School practice and demonstrate positive behavior community expectations throughout the school day. The S in the Yulee Primary NEST acronym represents Safety First. Safe shoes promote safety on playgrounds, fields and sidewalks for Yulee Primary students. Trampolines will be used for a celebration center rotation during Physical Education for the classes consistently in safe sneakers. Individual students who demonstrate safety on campus or the resiliency trait of the month will have the opportunity for trampoline centers during Physical Education. The goal is to have every student earn a station of fun jumping during the year.
P.E. expectations of Safe shoes and resiliency are set and reviewed regularly during P.E. The students will earn the opportunity to jump or jog on individual trampolines if they are in a winning class for super safe shoes. The trampolines will also be used to reward students and/or classes for outstanding display of safety and/or resiliency character traits. This gives each class or student multiple opportunities to jump on trampolines during celebration days.
Cardio ...Jumping is GREAT for the heart.
Fun.... trampoline bouncing is FUN!
Resiliency ... students are learning personal responsibility by wearing safe shoes to school on PE days
Safety... safe shoes decrease slips, trips and falls on campus and increase fun and success with physical activities during Physical Education
