Goal
My goal with this grant is to improve fluency among my students through movement. Students will use the Fluency and Fitness+ program through brain breaks, whole group, and incorporating multi-sensory videos throughout instruction. My students possess varying exceptionalities and incorporating movement into their learning will help meet their sensory needs.
What will be done with my students
Students will be exposed to videos that match the skills we are learning, there will be 3 different levels so the material can be differentiated. Students will be able to use a multi-sensory and fun approach to learning phonics and in turn, increasing their fluency. I will be able to infuse movement throughout my students entire day to help meet their sensory needs prior to entering the general education classroom.
Benefits to my students
The Fitness and Fluency Program provides over 2100 videos for learning various skills, and over 1400 videos to show evidence of retention, or the application portion. It has been proven that children who use movement wile learning, retain more. Using this program as well as incorporating movement throughout the day, into the already existing curriculum will help my students grow.
Budget Narrative
All items listed will be used for the extension of the Fitness & Fluency+ program and or incorporated into transitional movements throughout my students day to aid in sensory input for all my students as well as aid in phonics retention.
