Goal

To provide acting/singing/directing/stage managing opportunities for our K-5th grade students. To promote confidence, improve public speaking and the appreciation of the arts on a elementary level. 

What will be done with my students

-Students will spend the first few week working on basic and advance acting and singing techniques.
-Students will audition for roles, we would like to double cast to give more students an opportunity to have a leading role.
-Students will rehearse parts, build stage sets and get to partake in co-directing their peers.
-Finally, preforming a musical in it's entirety, two shows, one for the student body & one for parents.

We will then "own" the rights to the show, props and costumes and can use them again in a future production.

This grant will correlate with my Christmas music program curriculum.
 

Benefits to my students

Having a drama program will significantly benefit students by boosting their creativity, communication skills, confidence, empathy, critical thinking, teamwork, and imagination, allowing them to explore different perspectives and express themselves freely within a supportive environment; essentially helping them develop important life skills through collaborative storytelling and role-playing.

This grant will benefit 30-50 students and 2 teachers. The production will also benefit future students, because it can be presented again at later dates.


 

Budget Narrative

The Ballie Players offer a complete performance package, scripts, audio files of the songs and stage directing. Once purchased, we will own the rights and can perform this musical at later dates. Costumes, props and set pieces can be used again in future productions of The Nutcracker and other shows.
