Goal

To provide elementary school students with enriching learning experiences through
the use of a Makerspace.

What will be done with my students

This will be a permanent space within the Wildlight library where students will have the ability to come together to design, create, and build items of their own creation through inquiry-based learning.

Benefits to my students

1. Making and tinkering are powerful and empowering ways to learn.
2. Makerspaces are learner-centered opportunties.
3. Makerspaces offer authentic learning experiences connected to the real world.
4. Makerspaces help to prepare students for the future.
5. Makerspaces address differentiation and multiple intelligences.
6. Makerspaces can function as catalysts for change.
