Goal

To increase the understanding of science and mathematics through the use of STEM lab materials and activities that create a hands-on learning experience for all 200-plus students enrolled in 4th grade.

What will be done with my students

Approximately 200 (plus) fourth grade students will participate in weekly hands-on science/math activities that parallel and enhance the Science/Math curriculum at CIS. Activities will provide a kinesthetic approach to Science and Mathematics which our Title I children may not easily have access and/or opportunity to experience.

Benefits to my students

Fourth grade students will be actively engaged in manipulating hands-on activities to increase their understanding of math and science related concepts. Manipulatives will provide an all encompassing lateral movement of knowledge from fourth to fifth grade which will enhance the achievement of the Florida Common Core.

Budget Narrative

Approximately 200 (plus) fourth grade students will participate in weekly hands-on science/math activities.
