Goal

5th grade students will learn about the states of matter at their instructional level through demonstrations and hands-on activities. 

 

What will be done with my students

All 5th grade students (approximately 200) will have the opportunity to experience engaging activities that teach and review the following 5th grade NGSSS Science standards related to Properties of Matter and Changes in Matter:
SC.5.P.8.3 (Annually Assessed)
SC.5.P.8.4
SC.5.P.9.1 (Annually Assessed)

 

 

Benefits to my students

All 5th grade students will benefit by having a FUN learning experience in the active assembly and hands-on workshops activities. Both activities will reinforce their knowledge of Properties of Matter and Changes in Matter.  

 

Budget Narrative

The $895 will cover one 45 minute assembly presentation for the entire 5th grade, and five 30 minute hands-on workshops (30-40 students per workshop).
