Goal

The goal is to have the means to purchase e-books for the school's Kindle readers. The Nassau Education Foundation graciously approved our grant last year for Kindle readers and a gift card. We have nearly exhausted the funds on the current gift card.

What will be done with my students

The gift cards would allow teachers to purchase high-interest e-books for struggling readers. Students are motivated to read on a Kindle device. Sunshine State Books are high-interest books that students like to read. These e-books must be purchased through Amazon.

Benefits to my students

The more students read, the better. Reading on Kindle devices instead of paper will have long term benefits for students. FSA reading testing is now done electronically. Secondary schools are increasing their demands for reading on a device (Google Classroom, Florida Virtual School, etc..). Students need to be comfortable with reading on an electronic device.

Budget Narrative

We are requesting five $100 Amazon Gift Cards for a total of $500.00.
