Goal

The ultimate goal of this request is to give my students the feel of a real crime scene (this is a forensics course), and the experience of processing the evidence.

What will be done with my students

Students will
1) Evaluate the crime scene
2) Process the evidence, which includes Hair, Fibers, Textiles, Pollen, Fingerprints, DNA, Blood, Toxicology, Forgery, Death, Soil, Glass, Impressions, & Ballistics
all while using the knowledge we have gained through the text book and labs.
Additionally, they will have to solve the various mysteries that are presented to them.

Benefits to my students

The benefits include:
1)Practical experience gained from hands on processing of a simulated crime scene.
2) 1st hand knowledge of a career they may find an interest in pursuing.
3) Making their learning fun and immersing them in the study of Forensics

Budget Narrative

This is a new course for Yulee H.S., which started last January. We are trying to piece together the materials needed to make it a rich & interactive course for the students. It has been well received by a wide range of kids across diverse academic capabilities. The class has been getting good PR from those that have taken the course, and the classes are now in demand. Any help your granting agency can offer would be greatly appreciated.
