Goal

To have kindles with loaded texts available for my students to use. 

What will be done with my students

Students, especially those in need, will be able to check out kindles with the assigned texts already purchased and loaded on them. 

Benefits to my students

I teach multiple levels of literature courses (many Dual Enrollment and AP). My students have a heavy reading course load and are responsible for finding their own copies of the assigned texts. There are copies at the local libraries and the school library to check out for those unable/unwilling to purchase their own book, but there are always more students who need help securing their own copy than there are free copies available. Having a set of kindles in class I could regularly check out to those who need them with the texts already purchased on them would greatly help many of my students and can be re-used for every class, year to year. The amazon gift cards would help fund the purchase of the needed texts.  

Budget Narrative

8 kindles would be part of my classroom library for students to check out as needed for the assigned novels in class. Students know to see me if they have financial difficulty securing their own copies of the text and these kindles will allow me to help more students than before. The gift cards will be used to purchase several of the assigned novels on the kindles.
