Goal

The goal for Bryceville Elementary School is to implement our Positive Behavior Plan (a district initiative: Positive Behavior Support/Multi-Tiered Support System, or PBS/MTSS) enhancing all curriculum through the use of ancillary materials, in order to create a continuing positive school climate.

What will be done with my students

Information about our Positive Behavior Plan will be disseminated to not only our students, but also parents and the community. It is a behavior support system for our students. Our PBS Team will compile data, communicate the behavior goals and expectations to all stakeholders, create a time-line for teaching/re-teaching behavior expectations to our students, and implementing a reward system using "Bobcat Bucks" when our students show positive behaviors.

Benefits to my students

The benefit of implementing our Positive Behavior Plan is having a positive school climate with courteous students who treat each other with kindness and acceptance. This plan is the Tier I implementation in the PBS/MTSS program. Students who have difficulty complying will be identified and placed in Tier II and/or Tier III where school and district resources are in place to support their progress in becoming productive citizens of their community.

Budget Narrative

Substitutes are needed to give the PBS Team time to plan and train the staff. The display/bulletin board is needed to communicate the behavior goals and expectations (i.e. positive behavior rules) to the students, parents, and community. The Bouncy Bands are for those ADHD students who have difficulty showing positive behavior during class time. The Behavior Balls are used in Guidance Lessons to teach positive behaviors in a game format. Rewards are needed to reinforce the positive behaviors students exhibit. And the Skillstreaming/character education curriculum resources are needed to teach/re-teach those positive behaviors we expect the students to use in their every day lives.
