Project Goal

My goal is to increase student proficiency in literacy by providing more technology in the classroom. Through our new online curriculum platform, students will build their background knowledge about a variety of engaging topics which will increase their reading comprehension.  

How Project Benefits Students

This project will give students more opportunities to engage with text online since we are not a school that is 1 to 1 in technology. Not every student has access to a device at home and must rely solely on classroom time to use the online curriculum. Our students come from different areas of Hillsborough county, including The Children's Home in Tampa. Having tablets in classrooms will level the playing field, if you will, with other students and schools that have technology that is readily available in the class. 

Expected Outcome(s)

Students can use tablets in class to check Canvas, read novels, use the online curriculum platform and participate in writing revision platforms to improve their writing skills. 

Detailed Cost Summary

Tablet for enough students to pair up and work together. Each tablet will have a protective case.
