This project would dramatically impact all of our students, especially our athletes on campus. Our kids are the hardest workers out there. Due to the socioeconomic status of our community, finding funds to help our students can be a challenge. Our weight room desperately needs equipment; our PE classes, as well as our athletes, would benefit greatly from assistance with these items: vacuum, benches, medicine balls, resistance bands, and other basic necessities for a weight room.
It is our goal as coaches and teachers to educate our students on how to monitor and maintain their own health and fitness. In addition, there is a direct correlation between exercise and optimal mental health. Our students face so many issues daily, including difficult home lives, peer pressure, work overload, and high stakes testing. Our weight room should be an outlet for those stressors. It needs to be place where students can work on their physical strength while unlocking the emotional and mental strength that has always been inside of them.
This project would transform our weight room by funding the necessary equipment listed above. Our school and athletic program would be forever grateful for the support.
