AI and machine learning is helping cars drive safely unmanned, finding early tumors with a high degree of accuracy, automating and directing customer support, and so much more.
I would like my students to understand more about these various systems of AI.
In my classroom I teach programming, computer fundamentals, and cyber security. All 3 of these courses would benefit from having machine learning tools implemented. For programming students would allow for students to understand real world applications immediately. For computer fundamentals students it would allow for them to develop and create game systems that adapt to the player making the game easier or harder based on the desired outcome. In cyber security it would allow for students to gain firsthand knowledge of how machine learning can learn to adjust on the fly and would be the first step in understanding how machine learning could be applied to active cyber defense for personal or professional use. Having these devices opens up such a large world of possibility for my students in giving them real insight into the world of tomorrow outside of the classroom.
I want my students to be able to work, live, and enjoy the future so giving them access to the technology that will shape the future is all I can ask. AWS DeepRacer is the fastest way to get rolling with machine learning, literally. Get hands-on with a fully autonomous 1/18th scale race car driven by reinforcement learning, 3D racing simulator, and global racing league.
AWS DeepRacer is a 1/18th scale race car which gives you an interesting and fun way to get started with reinforcement learning (RL). RL is an advanced machine learning (ML) technique which takes a very different approach to training models than other machine learning methods. Its super power is that it learns very complex behaviors without requiring any labeled training data, and can make short term decisions while optimizing for a longer term goal.
With AWS DeepRacer, you now have a way to get hands-on with RL, experiment, and learn through autonomous driving. You can get started with the virtual car and tracks in the cloud-based 3D racing simulator, and for a real-world experience, you can deploy your trained models onto AWS DeepRacer and race your friends, or take part in the global AWS DeepRacer League.
This project is for 3 AWS DeepRacer Cars, 3 Sensor Kits, and 3 Batteries. The individual cost for each car is about $665. Most classes have about 35 students, so this would be about 12 students taking turns per car.
