Project Goal

We are hoping to add more seating options to our classroom, both to add more physical chairs that we are in need of, as well as flexible seating to encourage groupwork and collaboration. 

How Project Benefits Students

Currently, our class has enough chairs for each student at their desk, though we are in need of more seats for when students are at groupwork tables. Having flexible seating already prepared at small group and collaborative tables will save students time having to physically move their chairs from their desks to groupwork tables across the classroom. 

Expected Outcome(s)

Students collaborative skills will increase as more time is devoted to working in small groups, and less time worrying about the practical aspect of finding physical seats. Flexible seating will also create learning gains in all academic areas when students are able to learn from their peers in different work settings (both in partner work and flexible groups to collaborate with each other in science, math, reading, social studies, etc.).
