To equip the Culinary Lab and Dining Room with badly needed tools and equipment in order to provide service opportunities for the school and stakeholders. This will also help us provide hands on practice for student to apply the Principles of ServSafe as required to pass industry certifications.
Our lab and dining area is missing some simple, but vital tools and equipment. We are missing items like coffee urns, service equipment, and storage equipment. We are also in need of some new pots and pans as ours are very old and worn. These items will allow us to begin serving our faculty, staff, and stakeholders. We will be able to serve our community as well. In doing so, students will be able to put into practice what they are learning for ServSafe Industry certification and the class curriculum. The students need this hands on experience. If they earn industry certifications, they can gain acceleration points as well as a science or math credit.
The students will practice hands on the things they are learning and will have a much better chance of earning their certifications. I will have more students pass. I would expect a higher interest and retainment of students. This will help the students and the school itself.
