Goal

The goal of annotation is to provide additional information or explanation to a text, image, or other media. It can help clarify complex or ambiguous content, highlight important details, or provide context for the reader. Annotation also allows for the organization and categorization of information, making it easier to locate and retrieve specific details later on. Overall, the goal of annotation is to enhance understanding and provide a more comprehensive and valuable experience for the user. 

What will be done with my students

1. Reading comprehension: Annotation skills can help students better understand texts by actively engaging with the material. Students can annotate important concepts, unfamiliar words, or questions they have while reading. This helps them to make connections and track their understanding.

2. Critical thinking: Annotation skills encourage students to analyze and evaluate texts. They can highlight key arguments, identify bias, or question the author's intent. By critically analyzing texts, students develop their analytical skills and learn to engage with different perspectives.

3. Note-taking: Annotation skills can be used to take notes during lectures, presentations, or class discussions. Students can underline main ideas, jot down questions, or summarize key points. This active form of note-taking helps students to stay engaged and retain information.

4. Research skills: Annotation skills are essential for effective research. Students can annotate useful quotes, key information, or sources while conducting research. This helps them to organize their findings and easily access important information when writing papers or creating presentations.
