Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
Tash Elwyn - $1,000.00
The goal is to help low performing students grow and achieve proficiency in mathematics
Students will be taken once a week away from an elective class to receive small group/individualized instruction in areas of math that they have shown to be deficient. Students in middle school do not want to lose their elective classes so to help incentivize them we want to provide snacks or candy to students.
By receiving this extra practice and taking the time to bring these students back up toward proficiency we can help curb a long-standing problem of students who struggle in mathematics. Students' troubles in math often begin when they are in middle school and continue on to high school and beyond. By having these students receive this intervention in middle school we are hoping to stop this trend
The students will be a combination of ESE students, low performing students, and students who are just below proficiency.
The budget will be used to purchase snacks and candy for students to incentivize students to give up their elective class and come get extra math practice.
