David and Mamie Evans Endowment - $980.00
To calm students who need to calm down. A Bumpas is a weighted plush stuffed character that has weighted hands and feet. The character can hug a child from the back or front around their shoulders and neck area.
When a child is in crisis, a Bumpas will be offered to provide comfort to the child.
It is teaching student with ASD how to self-regulate without assistance. When a child is calm and self-regulated, it is easier for them to learn. If a student can depend on their friend, a Bumpas, to hug them and be there for them, students will be more confident to calm down and learn.
My students are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
28 Bumpas x $35 each = $980.00
