Goal

To teach lessons to help students learn the value of teamwork and perseverance. To contribute to shaping the students minds and helping them become critical thinkers, complex problem solvers, and creators using engaging hands-on tools.

What will be done with my students

To create a learning environment that helps children engage in projects that reflect their ideas and how they see the world. By providing real world challenges where teams of students collaborate with each other to solve problems by inventing, creating, communicating, and continuously iterate as they use the design engineering process.

Benefits to my students

The students will learn to collaborate with opportunities for students to interact, experiment, and create overlapping projects. In this imaginative space of making and problem solving, students will refine their creative thinking while building projects they care about. It's important to know how to build, explore, test, and experiment because breakthroughs don't just happen. Learning by trying is the future for our students.

Describe the Students

Seminole is a Title 1 school. We have 402 students who receive free breakfast, lunch, after care receives free dinner, 9% are ELL and 15% are VE. We had a C in the 2022-2023 school year.

Budget Narrative

Strawbees Classroom for one teacher – support for the teacher to implement, explore Strawbees Classroom. Their curriculum-aligned, class-ready lessons help teachers quickly and easily to get started.

STEAM School Kit – Strawbees' massive construction kit providing over 4000 pieces enough for an entire classroom of students. The students can build a large cityscape, a large rollercoaster track for a ball to run through, a large pyramid structure taller than you, and create moving mechanical arms and claws. The building set comes with 5 different precut straw sizes and 4 color-coded connectors in a storage box with pull-out material trays to get started building!
