Goal

Our goal is to provide the teachers at Paul B. Stephens with a library of functional task boxes and workstations that directly correlate to their students' transitional IEP goals.

What will be done with my students

The Occupational Therapy staff at Paul B. Stephens will use this grant funding to purchase materials for a library of life-skills and prevocational work boxes and workstation activities that teachers will be able to check out on rotation to use with their students. As OTs, we will use our expertise in task analysis to select materials that reflect real-world functional skills that will be most useful to these students as they transition to IEP goals related to employment and independent living.

Benefits to my students

Students will be able to practice functional activities including prevocational skills to promote independence as they transition into high school.

Describe the Students

Our students at Paul B. Stephens receive ESE services in a center setting. Our school is specialized to serve students with significant disabilities and strives to provide them with opportunities to develop to their highest level of independence.
