Goal

Center for Journalism and Multimedia students will use this photography drone to take photos and video of school events, produce artistic photography, and learn valuable tech skills while producing news for the school news site. 

 

What will be done with my students

Students will complete multiple projects based on using the drone, using the drone software and producing news packages using the industry standard technologies.

Students will be taught to take drone footage of school sports events and school events. They will use Adobe Premiere to package the video and audio from interviews together with the drone footage to create news packages for the school news site.

After learning how to use the drone, students will be able to check out the drone for personal artistic growth to produce artistic features for the school news site. 

 

Benefits to my students

Students will be educated on how to use drone technology to produce news for the school news site. Students will learn how to use these industry standard tools and processes that will help them develop STEM skills that will be valuable post high school.  

 

Describe the Students

Lakewood is a Title 1 school focused on technology skills, acceleration, and readying students for post high school education. Center for Journalism and Multimedia students are above average test takers and win multiple journalism awards each year through Florida Scholastic Press Association.
